Support
Appropriate Expectations
Scripturizer is a low-key volunteer project. The developers all have full time jobs, ministries, families, etc. Also, remember that this is freeware software. Therefore, we will do our best to provide minimal support, but please keep your expetation levels at appropriate levels.
Steps to Follow Before Asking for Support
In order to save time on both ends please follow these simple steps before asking for help:
- Make sure you are using the latest stable version of Scripturizer. Check the download page for the latest version.
- Is it in the List of known bugs? If so, we are aware of the problem and are working on a solution.
- Deactivate any other plugins which filter the text of posts, pages, and comments. Then test Scripturizer again to see whether there is a conflict between plugins. (Remember to reload/refresh).
Make a Support Request
The official way to request support is in WordPress.org’s forum with the following information:
- What version of WordPress you are running? (Look at the very bottom of your admin console.)
- Who is your webhost?
- Include a brief, but detailed description of the problem you are experiencing. If you are receiving error messages, please copy and paste the error message text exactly as it appears.

Hi, guys. I am getting the following error when I turn the webservice option on:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function: curl_init() in H:\Websites\LocalUser\mattstine\wp-content\plugins\scripturizer_1.5.php on line 299
My WordPress version is: 2.0.4
My PHP version is: 4.4.1
Can you guys help?
Thanks,
Matt
Hi Matt,
Scripturizer’s “Get ESV text” option uses PHP’s CURL library. Therefore, in order to use the Get ESV text option, your web server must have the CURL library installed.
Check out the PHP documentation for instructions on how to install the CURL library.
If you not maintaining your own server, then you will likely need to contact your web host’s customer support and ask them kindly to install CURL. If your web host will not support CURL, then you could check into a low-cost host that does, such as PagesGarden.com.
Hi guys,
I am really a fan of this plug-in. The combination of your functionality and ESV’s great customer service makes this a must have for any church or religious related site.
Currently I am looking at how to integrate ESV Bible Text via AJAX into the system but haven’t taken a lot of time to do so. That said, I think it would be a fantastic addition.
I do have a question that is vexing me. I attempted to set and then reset the open link in new window option, however while it used to default to ’0′ it is now constantly reverting back to ’1′. Any idea why that may be?
Hey Dave,
You were right . . . there was a bug in the open window option (misnamed variable).
Download 1.5a for the fix.
